As a reminder, due to ongoing work by debris teams using the HOA lot, the annual meeting will be held online only this year using Zoom. We are pleased to announce that our annual homeowner’s association meeting will be held on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Due to our HOA lot being used for post Hurricane Ian vegetative debris removal, the meeting will be conducted remotely via Zoom. We encourage all homeowners to attend and participate in this meeting. If you will be on-island and have a limitation using Zoom, let us know and we will help find another homeowner for you to participate with. As a reminder, you do not need a computer nor camera to join a Zoom meeting. Zoom works as a traditional telephone conference call service alongside video attendees.

To register for the meeting, please click here: You will find detailed instructions on how to register for the meeting. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to join the Zoom meeting on the day of the event along with dial in information should you choose that method.

For those who are unable to attend the meeting, you may fill out the proxy voting form by clicking here. This form will allow another homeowner to make any necessary votes on your behalf. To use the proxy form, simply fill out the required information and submit it to the association prior to the meeting. You may mail the form to the address on the form letterhead or email it to northcaptivadunes@gmail.com. Reminder it must be received prior to Sunday, March 26th.

We encourage all homeowners to attend and participate, as we will be discussing matters that affect our Dunes neighborhood. We will hold a vote for Officers for the year. If you would like to run for an Officer position, please send an email to northcaptivadunes@gmail.com, noting your desire to serve, to be added to the ballot.

Thank you for your continued support of the North Captiva Dunes Homeowners Association. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.

The North Captiva Dunes HOA lot at 691 Rum Road has been leased temporarily to DRC Emergency Services for the aggregation, chipping and removal of vegetative debris caused by Hurricane Ian. The State of Florida Division of Emergency Management along with DRC failed at securing several other land parcels on the island for this work due to issues with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. DEP permitted our HOA lot. Our lease with DRC is bringing in funds to the HOA that will more than cover costs for 2022 and 2023 and increase our overall cash reserves. The initial lease is for 60 days starting December 13, 2022, however it is anticipated DCR will renew for additional 30 day time periods. Our agreement with DRC requires them to cover all necessary insurances and hold harmless the HOA from anything that may arise from their activities. Additionally the contract requires DRC to restore the lot to its prior condition or better at the end of their usage. Without the ability to use our lot along with a couple others on the island, the debris process for vegetative would not have started when it did.
